Why I Started Writing About Learning Experience Design

For most of my career, I didn’t think of myself as a writer.

I thought of myself as someone who supported people. Someone who helped teams understand systems, navigate change, and feel more confident in their roles. My work lived in training sessions, process guides, conversations, and the quiet moments where someone said, “I understand now.”

Writing wasn’t the center of that work.

But learning was.

Over time, especially as I began exploring learning experience design more intentionally, I started to realize that writing is an extension of how I think. It allows me to reflect on what I’ve seen, what I’ve learned, and what continues to shape me.

This blog grew from that realization.

Making sense of experience

After many years working in fintech and digital training, I’ve had the opportunity to support teams through moments of significant change. New systems, new products, new expectations. Each experience taught me something—not just about technology, but about people.

I started writing because I wanted a place to make sense of those lessons.

Writing helps me slow down and ask questions I didn’t always have time to ask in fast-moving environments. What helped people feel confident? What created uncertainty? What made learning meaningful instead of procedural?

These reflections became the foundation for this space.

Stepping into a new chapter

Writing also represents something more personal. It reflects a moment of transition in my life and career.

As I’ve stepped more fully into learning experience design, I’ve found myself reconnecting with curiosity. Learning again. Seeing familiar work through a new lens.

This blog is part of that process.

It’s a place where I can explore ideas, share insights, and continue growing—not just as a professional, but as a person.

Creating space for reflection and connection

One of the things I value most about learning is that it connects us. Every person who learns something new is, in some small way, becoming someone new.

Writing about learning allows me to be part of that process in a different way.

It allows me to contribute to conversations that extend beyond a single organization or project.

And it reminds me that growth is ongoing.

A quiet promise to myself

Starting this blog was also a quiet promise.

A promise to honor my experiences.

A promise to continue learning.

A promise to use my voice.

I don’t know exactly where this path will lead, but I know why I started.

I started because learning has shaped my life.

And I wanted to create a space where I could share that journey.
